Kim's latest mission takes her to China to stop Monkey Fist from stealing a rare amulet. Unfortunately, it ends up on the hero and fuses with her. Not so bad...unless you consider that the amulet gradually turns you into a monkey. Also, it's picture day at Middleton High, and Kim has had bad luck with school pictures. It's not long before Monkey Fist shows up to claim what (he assumes) is rightfully his.
Let's see: Kim's life is, more or less, in danger thanks to a villain's scheme, while Ron bumbles his way toward a solution. So, in essence, this episode is a re-working of "Blush" (though it aired a week before, it was produced shortly after), but with 30% more laziness. There are so many commonplace elements, but here it felt like they were delivered at a whole other level. The scenes of Kim trying (however futilely) to hide her condition from her classmates and especially Ron's monkey-related freak-outs ended up more irritating than amusing. Also falling flat was the bit with Mrs. Dr. Possible; 'fit as a chimp'? Commence eye-rolling now. And there's something a bit off when Ron can't tell the difference between his best friend and a monkey in a dress.
What little enjoyment I got from this episode came from Mr. Barkin, and the montage featuring Ron and the aforementioned monkey - Chippy, one of the accursed monkey ninjas. It acts as a suggestion that Ron may be (finally!) getting over his simian issues.
"The Full Monkey" left me empty.
