Ron is failing algebra, and the tutoring sessions with Wade could be going better. Drakken stumbles upon Project Feebus, which can increase a person's intelligence. He hopes to harness its energy to be smart enough to create a doomsday device. Kim and Ron manage to thwart him, however. The next day at school, Ron's aptitude at algebra improves greatly and he's labeled a genius. Could it be that he had a sudden onslaught of brain power...or could it be that the newly super-intelligent Rufus is helping him cheat? (Come on! It's there in the title!)
There were some funny moments here, with Wade taking his unseating as Team Possible's genius a little personally. Drakken's attempts at designing a doomsday device were very amusing. He learns of Ron's 'genius' and decides to kidnap him. Ron has to make a device, 'lest he end up in a pretty cool deathtrap with a collapsing floor. This has the makings of a fine episode, but...
Now, I hate to get all 'soapbox' here, but (as I stated a long time ago) I see a lot of myself in Ron...and seeing me treated like garbage really gets under my skin. During an exhibition of Ron's 'skills', Kim is talking to Wade. She can't believe what's happened to Ron, but even more unbelieveable is what came from her mouth: "Last night, he had to take off his shoes to count to twelve..." Ron's been the butt of many a joke throughout the run of the show, but I feel that a line was stepped over with this moment. (He is in high school, correct?) I wouldn't be much of a Ron fan if I didn't deduct half-a-star from the rating.
If only they'd quit while they were ahead.
