  • First time we see Ron's scooter and Bueno Nacho.

  •   Quotes
    Mom: South America!?
    Dad: On a school night?
    (Kim's lower lip quivers)
Mom: O-kay... But finish your peas, first.

(Shego drops down a chute and into a chair)
Shego: Mmmph! Ever consider a normal door?
    Drakken: Did you get it?
Shego: I got it! I don't know why you'd want it, but I got it.
Drakken: My plan will reveal itself in due course, Shego. (singing to stolen disc) Who wants to build a robot-tick? I do! I do!
Shego: Uh... Dr. Drakken. You know you said that out loud, don't you?
    Drakken: Blast!

Kim (of Rufus): What could it be, Mr. Barkin?
Barkin: Probably busted out of the Science Lab -- genetic mutation. When will they stop? WHEN?!

    Ron: New toys?! Gravy!

Drakken: I have heard of you. The world-famous teen hero, Kim Possible.
    Shego: And her... chum.
Ron: Did she have to say "chum"?
    (circling shark chomps)
Drakken: And surely you know of my work....
    Kim: Sorry.
Drakken: Think for a minute. It- it'll come to you. I'm a genius...
    Kim: I really don't know--
Drakken: Dr... Dr. D--... Dr. Draaa--... Doc-- Dr. Drakken! Drakken!
    Kim: Dr. Drakken.
Drakken: Aha, aha, aha! I see my reputation precedes me!

Drakken: Enough chitchat! My pets are famished. Perhaps you two could stay--
    Kim: For lunch?
Drakken: I wasn't going to say that.
Ron: Oh, dude, you were *so* "for lunch".
Drakken: Fine! Yes! Then stay for lunch!

Ron: Why not otters? I wouldn't mind dropping into a tank of otters! They're fun!

Drakken: I'll wager that you are wondering how I can I use a robot-tick in my evil scheme. Aren't you, Shego?
Shego: (smoothing lipstick) I'm sorry. What?
Drakken: (reacts) When I join my robot-tick to a nano-explosive of my own brilliant design--
    Shego: "Nano"? (laughing) What's "nano"?
    Drakken: Nano. Tiny. Mini.
Shego: Why don't you just say "mini", then?
Drakken: Because "nano"... sounds about a hundred times better! That's why.

Drakken: Look at this! Why do I even bother with the sharks?

Ron: Remote controlled lasers -- I'll handle this. (pause) I got nothin'. Kim?

Barkin: *Nobody* escapes my detention! Possible, you're goin' *down*!

Kim: Looks bad. He's got some kind of ray-thingy!
    Ron: What kind of ray-thingy?
Drakken (shouting from the air): Gravatomic!

    Vinnie: Aw, man! That's gravatomic!

Shego (to Drakken): You! Yeah-- You don't touch anything!

Shego: Drop the hot sauce, and step away from the nose.

Ron: The tick... is in the straw.

Drakken: You think you're all that! But you're not!

Drakken: A beep! Is it a good beep??
Shego: The tracker's got a lock on your bug.
Drakken: Ohhh, beep on, sweet machine, beep on...
Shego: (pushing him away) Can you not be weird, please?

Kim: You have something that doesn't belong to you, Doctor-- uh, what was it again?
Ron: Doctor-- He said it was, D-- Uh. "Duh"-something...

Barkin: Subject is northbound on a scooter being pursued by an aerial craft of unknown design and origin firing--
    Junior: Who you talkin' to?
Barkin (barking): During a pursuit, never... distract.. the driver!

    Vinnie: Oh, yeah. Gravimatromic.

    (Klaxons sound)
    Shego: Intruder Alert!
Dr. Drakken: Can't hear you! Intruder Alert TOO LOUD!

Shego: What did we agree on?
    Drakken: I don't touch anything.
    Shego: Yeah!

Shego: (jumping on table) Kim Possible has something that belongs to us!
Kim: (jumping on another) Guess what? I don't want it.
    Shego: It's on you? What..like..stuck??
Kim: Hello! It's not a nose ring.
Drakken: Take her whole nose if you have to!!
    Shego: Works for me!

    (Kim throws Shego at Barkin)
Junior: See, this is why I never come here, dude.

Drakken: The nano-tick is my evil technology, and I want it back!
Shego: 'Kay, Dr. D? You gotta get a grip.

Kim: Guys... What do we do??
    Vinnie and Junior: Take turns...

Barkin: Possible! Step to. It's 1500 hours.
Ron: She has to do 1500 hours?! Let the time fit the crime, Mr. B!
Barkin: You wanna piece of this, Stoppable!?
Ron: Pass. (backs behind locker door) Remember KP, chocolate's as good as cash in there, and don't look anyone in the eye.

Dr. Drakken: Once the nano tick attaches to a victim, he or she will be at my mercy.
Shego: And will bow to your will or . . .
Dr. Drakken: Kaboom! Yes! Imagine the possibilities. About time at last for the kids who used to tease me in gym. The little . . .

Kim: Jr., Vinney, Big Mike, *what* are you staring at?
Jr.: Cheerleader, you've got a zit.
    Vinney: Cheerleaders don't get zits.
Jr.: Oh, than maybe it's a tiny, explosive device.

Kim: Okay. So, we're definitely putting this guy in the "mad scientist" category.
    Ron: Mad-angry or mad-crazy?
Shego (behind them): What do you think?

Drakken: Shego has failed! Shego never fails!
    (smacks button with head)
    Computer voice: Self-destruct-sequence activated.

Drakken: This is my weapon and I want to wield it!
    Shego: Wield away.

    Kim: Hi, Big Mike.
    Big Mike: *grunts* Cheerleader.

Dr. Drakken:(sobbing) My one and only nano tick, destroyed!
Shego: Grow up, your nano tick's okay.
Dr. Drakken: Don't kid a kidder, Shego.
Shego: I got a lock on the signal, but this is the weird part. The nano tick is at some high school.
    Dr. Drakken: Oh, Kim Possible.

Kim: Junior, Vinnie, Big Mike, *what* are you staring at?
Junior: Cheerleader, you've got a zit.
    Vinnie: Cheerleaders don't get zits.
Junior: Oh, then maybe it's a tiny, explosive device.

Kim: Mom, you're a brain surgeon, Dad's a rocket scientist. What am I? Detention girl.
    Mom: Detention?
Dad: A Possible has never had detention! Well, except your brothers, but they're little monkeys.

Kim: (of detention) You don't know what it's like in there. It's a meeting of the Lifetime Losers club.
Ron: Yeah.. Hey, I've been in detention!
    Kim: Huh.

Wade: Her name is Shego. She's wanted in 11 countries.
    Ron: Make that 12. (Growls)

    (bursts through Bueno Nacho's doors)
Kim: What makes you think we're safe in here?
Ron: I don't think we're safe anywhere, but chases make me hungry....Chimirito?
Kim: No, thanks. I'm trying to focus on the thing on my nose THAT'S GONNA BLOW ME UP!

Dad: Jim... Tim... No airborne vegetables at the table.

Kim [Reaching into her backpack]: Oh, my compact! I've been looking for this!
Ron [Nervously-Sheilding himself]: What's that do?!
Kim: It's a small mirror that allows me to check my face.

Ron: New toys? Gravy! [Reaches into Kim's backpack]
    Kim: It's my backpack!
Ron I need to familiarize myself with the equipment. Like this high tech [Pulls out a lipstick tube] lipstick?
Wade: Actually, it's no ordinary lipstick.
Ron: Ooh, is it fruit flavoured? [Opens the lid, a net of pink muck attaches itself to his face and sticks to him]
    Wade: Elastic constricting agent.

Ron (on scooter): We gotta save your boys!
Shego (mockingly): Ooh, we got her boys!
Kim (climbing on aircraft): They're not my boys!

MHS Sign: Term papers due today

    MHS Sign: Detention: Room 12

MHS Sign: Warning: Mutant vermin on campus

MHS Sign: Detention: Still Room 12

Ron: I talked to Wade. He thinks Drakken can track that exploding robot tick thing.
Kim: For once, please let Wade be wrong.
    Drakken: I WANT MY NANO-TICK!
    Kim: *sigh* Wade's never wrong.

      Goofs
  • Continuity Error: This episode introduces Kim to Dr. Drakken, though Ron refers to him as her "arch enemy" in "Crush".
  • When Shego asks Drakken if she can work the gravatomic ray, the black that tops her collar is missing.
  • After Drakken refuses to let Shego use the ray, the buttons on her control sticks are missing.
  • ^-- It's possible that the buttons simply aren't visible from that angle. More glaring errors in this scene: Those same buttons are grey in one shot, red in the next, and so on, back and forth. Even more dramatic is the constantly-shifting appearance of the gravatomic ray's control stick, the head of which alternates between a red ball and a thumb-triggered joystick. Various controls also seem to appear and disappear at random.
  • At Prof. Acari's, when Kim looks at her Kimmunicator, her gloves are missing.
  • After Kim finds out about the nano-tick and escapes detention, the seat she was sitting in disappears. Or maybe, really quick, Junior and Big Mike moved down a seat.
  • As Kim pulls her pom-poms from her backpack (just before Barkin retrieves her for detention), the backpack disappears. If she merely drops her pack to the floor (which doesn't seem very in-character), it ought to be visible in later, wider shots (which it isn't).
  • After escaping detention, both Kim and Ron have drinks. Then, a couple of scenes later, there's only one drink.
  • When Kim jumps on a table in Bueno Nacho, look in the background -- the "cheese machine" has been destroyed, presumably by the gravatomic ray. But when Shego tries to get Kim, the machine is back to normal and Shego destroys it...again.
  • When Kim confronts Shego at Bueno Nacho, the table she jumps on has a burger and two drinks. Right before Shego destroys it, the burger is missing.
  • ^-- Actually, it's *two* burgers, the wrappers they were sitting on, and what appears to be a pepper or salt shaker that turn up missing. But you really can't expect TV scale animators to draw in such incidental objects for such a very brief, wide shot action sequence. And, to their credit, they *were* consistent as far as who was sitting at the table Shego destroys (though, unless the fellow in orange has a twin, he was sitting with an entirely different woman as the roof came off).
  • The scar on Drakken's face comes from his eye but in some shots it comes from his nose. This happens during the whole "I want my nano-tick!" thing.
  • ^-- As far as I can tell, in that particular scene, Drakken's nose merely obscures the scar's true starting point.
  • Right before Barkin's car is captured by the ray, his watch is missing.
  • ^-- And after he's been dropped, it's on the wrong arm.
  • When Shego looks at the radar for the nano-tick, her one glove is missing.
  • ^-- More accurately, it seems her right glove was mis-colored to match her skin.
  • Right before Barkin gets Kim for detention, Prof. Acari says "thank you" and is holding the disk. But Kim never got the disk.
  • ^-- Au contraire. As Drakken rambles on about his nano-tick, Kim ejects, then snags, Acari's misappropriated disc.
  • Animation Goof: Someone forgot to color in Dad's eyebrows in the "South America/School Night" scene. Sure it was only one cel -- but that cel was held for more than 40 frames. ( http://ruggaphile.tripod.com/GoofDad.html)
  • Another animation goof is with Mr. Barkin. His hair in "Tick-Tick-Tick" Is BLONDE (just like Kim's father's eyebrows). In other episodes ("Sink or Swim" and "Downhill"), it's black ("Tick Tick Tick" was probably the pilot ep instead of "Crush").
  • ^-- Incorrectly Considered a Goof: Dr. Possible's eyebrows weren't blonde, they were flesh-colored, and only for one cel. In contrast, Mr. Barkin's crewcut was consistently blonde throughout the entire episode and was therefore almost certainly on-model for the time. In other words, the final decision on Barkin's hair color likely came too late for it to influence the production of "TTT", and his pigmentation can't truly be considered an animation "goof". Besides, who can say Steve's present look isn't the result of a dye job? Only his hairdresser knows for sure.
  • Animation Goof: When we first see Dr. Drakken, he's flesh colored, then, later, he becomes blue.
  • ^-- Incorrectly Considered a Goof: That's the effect of the firelight. Note that all colors appear a bit different in that scene -- though, I'll admit, Chris Bailey (or whoever) may have gone a bit overboard with Drakken.
  • Why did Coach Barkin give Kim detention because he found Rufus on school grounds? Rufus belongs to Ron. Kim should have protested that point.
  • When Kim goes to cheerleading practice, there's a rather sturdily-built cheerleader on the squad with thick eyebrows and wavy black hair who isn't shown in any other episode.
  • When Big Mike says, "I like sparkles" Kim has only painted one finger. After Junior and Vinnie's brief exchange, all of Big Mike's finger nails are painted.
  • When Kim looks in her compact mirror and finds the nanno-tick on her nose, the explosive part of it is missing.
  • When Kim is "introduced" to Vinnie and Big Mike, the lines in her hair disappear.
  • Re: control sticks; appears that the red ball opens doors/retracts the Gravitomic ray and the thumb-triggered control stick "wields" it.
  • ^-- Were they more consistent, I'd agree with you; indeed, I'd briefly considered that specific possibility. But there's just too much else wonky with the controls (and only one instance of the ray being lowered) for the above to be assumed.
  • Why would Bueno NACHO be selling BURGERS?
  • After Kim prints her papers in the beginning, Rufus has the word "nacho" on him. If this midterm was really important to Kim, why would it have the word "nacho" in it?
  • When Wade first plays the tape of Shego fly-kicking Acari's security camera, his computer display is blank. When Kim plays the same clip back later, the screen flashes "Upload in Progress" over a green progress bar.
  • During the scene where D&S chase K&R, the former pairing are soaked when Drakken's gravitomic ray uproots a fire hydrant. Shortly after, as they approach Bueno Nacho, the two are fully dry.
  • ^-- Well, they *are* flying through the air. Basic air-drying. Plus they're moving pretty quickly.
  • As Kim leaps off her desk in detention, her book is missing.
  • As Kim and Shego are fighting inside Bueno Nacho, Kim throws Ron the Kimmunicator. Where was it hidden? Cheerleading uniforms are not known to have pockets.
  • When Shego pushes Ron away and says, "Drop the hot sauce and step away from the nose," the camera pans out to reveal that Kim is wearing her usual green tank (rather than the cheerleading uniform she wears the rest of the scene).
  • In 'Go Team Go', we find out that Shego used to be a superhero, so why didn't Wade find that in his research? He was genuly surprised to find this out in GTG when he did.
  • ^-Re: Why didn't Ron get detention?: It could be that Kim refused to tell Mr. Barkin who helped her bust out of detention the first time. If so: aw.
  • When Shego asks Drakken "Ever consider a normal door?", the word "door" is "lure" in Closed Captioning.
  • Right after Ron talkes about otters, Kim's upper lip is white. (The animators probably thought it was her teeth.)

  •   Analysis
    Did You Notice? #1
Among the words Kim's printer inscribes on Rufus: "AILEY IS A COOL D". "Chris Bailey is a cool dude," perhaps?
Note on comment about "ailey is a cool d":
Other words on Rufus include "ski" and "nacho". These both can be connected to specific KP episodes; is it a possibility that the mystery phrase on Rufus might also be an allusion, even a *foreshadowing*? After all, both the ski resort episode ("Downhill") and the nacho episode ("Bueno Nacho") came AFTER "Tick-Tick-Tick". A bit of a stretch, maybe, but I thought I'd mention it anyways. P.S. The word "History" is also printed on Rufus, but this is easily explainable by the fact that Kim is printing out her history report.
    Did You Notice? #2
Drakken hums his "Robot-Tick" song as he works on the device.
Don't you read the credits at the beginning of the show?
Chris Bailey is the director of Kim Possible. So the message is "Chris Bailey is a cool director".
    DYN? #3
Diablo (hot) sauce. Diablo is Spanish for "devil".
    DYN? #4
"Acari" (also "Acarina") is the arachnid order that includes both mites... and ticks.
    DYN #5
Prof. Acari has named his centipede "legs."
DYN #6 We Will Come Full Circle
In this episode, Kim and Ron fail to remember Drakken's name (just before the infamous 'lunch' exchange). Later, in the series, we discover that Drakken and Shego cannot remember Ron's name.
Re: We Will Come Full Circle
1). Shego always remembers Ron's name. 2). Drakken not being able to remember Ron's name does not constitute coming full-circle. The characters repeating events or lines of dialogue from the first episode in the last episode would be coming full circle. Drakken not being able to remember Ron's name is merely a running joke.
    Re: DYN6
Ironically, we'd soon learn a little more about deception in one of the villains later on in the series..
    DYN? #7
When the clock's hands start to spin in the detention room, Mr. Barkin says "Stupid clock's busted again". This same joke occured in an episode of Even Stevens titled Raiders of the Lost Sausage (aired before this episode of KP).
RE: We Will Come Full Circle
Actually, judging by their tone, I think Kim and Ron were teasing Drakken. Also, Ron does remember Drakken's name near the end of the episode.

      Cultural References
Kim: "Haunted Island"? "Keep out, 'meddling kids'"? Puh-lease.
"Scooby Doo" involved a group of teenagers hoofing about a mysterious, often "haunted" locale before exposing its resident spook as a fraud, at which point the un-masked culprit would invariably pout and claim that he (or she) "would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids".
Drakken: Enough chitchat! My pets are famished. et al...
Okay this one is not much of a reach after seeing James Bond flicks, but if you notice, Kim and Ron are over a pool or sharks. Near the end of "Live and Let Die", Roger Moore's Bond is tied up and the villain slightly cuts his forearm to lure in sharks. Of course, Bond gets out of danger thanks to one of his gadgets (same thing with Kim and her expanding / contracting lipstick...)
    None: None
When Ron touches Prof. Acari's computer screen, all the butterflies resting on it fly away. This is similar to a scene in the Disney attraction "It's Tough to be a Bug," (also directed by Chris Bailey) where a similar effect is employed.
