•   Quotes
Ron: Monkey this, you hairy freak!

Holo-Larry (inspiring Ron): Remember level 9 on Fortress? To defeat the Cloud Guardian, you must drink from his enchanted well.
Kim: That's supposed to help?!
Larry: It's a geek thing.

Wade: Kim, Ron.
Ron: Wade, live?
Kim: In person?
Ron: Hey -
[tries to slap Wade on the back, but his hand passes through him]
AHHH!!! Wade's a ghost! Wade's a ghost!
Wade: Ron, I'm not a ghost.
Ron: Don't play me, spectre.

Kim: Spikes. Gee, where are the snakes?
(Snakes slither out of holes in the wall)
Kim: I was just being sarcastic!

Monkey Fist: So, now you know my secret -- which you will take to your graves.
Ron: How can you be so sure? I mean, a lot can happen in the next 60 or 70 years.
(Monkey Fist glares at Ron)
Ron: Oh. Gotcha.

Lord Fiske: How shockingly awful.
Bates: Awfully shocking, m'lord.

Ron: Oh, it's just a hooded ninja.

Dr. Possible: Isn't that just like those darn ninjas?

Ron: That would be an interesting conversation. Monkey this. Monkey that. Monkey! Monkey! Monkey!

Monty Fiske: You do know, of course, chimpanzees are actually part of the ape family? They're not monkeys at all.
Ron: Monkeys, apes, they all hold stuff with their feet, man! We're talkin' freaks of nature!

Bates: Monkey kung fu is half-mental.
Ron: COMPLETELY mental in this case!

Ron: Niiice place, KP. Come for the humidity, stay for the leeches.

Monkey Fist: (surprising Ron) Monkey.
Ron: AUUUGGHH!!!!!

Kim: I don't know what to do. If I was there I could help him.
Larry: Give it to me, I have an idea.
Kim: This isn't one of your stupid science fiction games Larry. Ron's facing a Kung-Fu fighting mutant with bioengineered hands...and mystical monkey power...and... (give Larry the Kimmunicator) Here.

Ron: Dead end.
Holo-Kim (looking up): There's a window.
Ron: Gimme a boost.
Holo-Kim: Uh, Ron, I'm not actually here you know.

Monkey Fist: "Crazy", you say? Like it was "crazy" to spend the family fortune on radical genetic mutation and dangerous experimental surgery? Like it was "crazy" to become a man-monkey who violates every law of nature and science!? It's a touch unconventional...

Kim: What is "monkey kung fu"?
Ron: Other than sick and wrong?

Bates: (of the monkey statue) Stunning in its monkey-ocity.

MHS Sign: Home of the Mad Dogs

Ron: Fortress? The other night I spent six hours battling the Hilltop Fortress; armed only with a joystick and a will that could not be denied.
Kim: And to think, that's time you might have otherwise wasted.

      Goofs
• Animation Goof?: When Lord Fiske thinks Kim and Ron know his secret, he's wearing a robe and ascot. Then, in the next scene, they're gone. Either they forgot about the robe, or he threw it off, really quick. ^-- It seems that Fiske did indeed throw off his robe.
• The Kimmunicator is briefly red as Kim demonstrates one difference between the Holo-Kim and the real McCoy.
• Near the conclusion of Ron's hand-to-hand battle with Monkey Fist, Fiske slams Ron to the ground. For that moment, and that moment alone, Ron's hands are bare.
• The appearance and color of the monkey idols changes from the scenes where Kim gets the idol and Wade tells Kim about the legend to the scenes where Lord Fiske and Ron acquire the mystic monkey power, then changes back after Ron tells Rufus to "search and destroy".
• After Ron knocks Bates on his back, the latter's hair and mustache darken for a frame as he struggles to stand.
• The monkey idol in the packing crate is visible in a number of scenes after Bates is instructed to place it on the pedestal - including the one where Monkey Fist is holding all four idols.
• In the scene where the Holo-Kim and Ron are talking with Monkey Fist in his castle, the two heroes keep switching positions. When seen from the back, Holo-Kim stands to Ron's left. When seen from the front, she is standing to his right.
• ^-- Just pointing out that, since Ron is more to the back of Holo-Kim than to her side, the jump might not be as dramatic as it seems.
• As Kim scales the cliff to save the eagle, she has the Kimmunicator strapped to her wrist. As she parachutes down, it's missing. Then, when she lands, she brandishes it from nowhere.
• When the ninja (Monkey Fist) picks up Ron to get the jade monkey from him, the ninja's gloves are missing.
• When Ron receives mystical monkey power from the idols, the floor beneath him is yellow with no monkey image on it. However, later, as Monkey Fist is trying to catch the falling idols to keep them from breaking, the giant monkey picture on the floor is visible. -->
• When Bates opens the door to Ron and the Holo-Kim, Ron's belt is briefly grey.
• When Ron says "Completely mental in this case!" and rushes past Bates, his entire outline is black, rather than grey on his shirt, pants and gloves.
• As Kim and Ron are travelling to Cambodia, the plane they are flying in is obviously a jet, however the wrong sound effect was added.....the sound of a PROPELLER driven aircraft.
• When Ron's mouth hangs open after Fiske's comment of personally directing questions to Kim, his tongue is white.
• When "the hooded ninja" is caught stealing the monkey statue, and Kim engages him in battle, the statue disappears and reappears in the ninja's left arm (just before Kim kicks it to Ron).
• Just as the fight scene between fully-gloved "hooded ninja" and Kim starts, the shot cuts to Kim, and the ninja's hand goes by her face ungloved.
• How could Holo-Kim exist outside the castle since holographs can only exist indoors?
• ^-Actually, holograms are basically 3-D projections; which can be seen outdoors, especially at night. The real question is how could Wade project the holograms wherever he wanted and see what they "saw"?
• When Kim asks Wade what monkey kung fu is, Ron's left sleeve is flesh-coloured.
• --^Another addition to the gloveless goof: The ninja's hand weren't monkey-like hands. I sincerely doubt Monkey Fist could've gotten his monkey-like hands and feet the day after Kim and Ron went home from Cambodia because: A. He wouldn't have had to wear his gloves to cover up his hands and B. Surgery and recovering from surgery usaully takes several weeks, even months!

•   Analysis
DYN?
Lord Fiske's gloves are identical to Kim and Ron's
DYN? #2
When he's first introduced, Lord Monty Fiske has a lighter skin tone than when he's revealed as Monkey Fist, or even later on, still holding up his completely human guise.
Re: DYN? #2
This could be attributed to Monty Fiske's strange obsession to actually become a monkey. (As later seen in "The Full Monkey") If you watch each episode he's in in order you'll find that he behaves like a monkey a little bit more with each passing episode.
DYN-I did
Has anyone noticed that the more Ron fights Monkey Fist, the more his fear of monkeys seem to go away?
DYN? #3
There are several things form this episode used in the opening theme song of KP. First: the shot of Kim in the room with the three giant monkey heads is used. Second: The background to Monkey Fist's "mystical monkey power" room is used in a shot. Third: reversed cells of Ron shouting, "Kim" when she falls down the trapdoor(with a hallway from Monty's estate used as background). Fourth: a (deleted?) scene with Monkey Fist in his black outfit that's only seen in this episode(when the director and creator credits appear).
Two morals in one story
Both Kim and Ron learn two different lessons in this episode-Kim learns that you can't judge a book by its cover and Ron learns that facing his fears will help get rid of them.

      Cultural References
Lord Fiske: So. You know all about my obsession with Tai Shing Pek Kwar.
Tai Shing Pek Kwar (Monkey Kung Fu) apparently does exist. See: More Info
Cousin Larry (into Kimmunicator): Hello, away team, do you read me?
Ref's Star Trek and its "communicator" device.
Kim: "Spikes and a jaded monkey. Gee, where are the snakes?"
The whole going into an ancient temple to retrieve a priceless treasure, an obvious reference to Indiana Jones. Indy was afraid of snakes, and they always seemed to be in every temple he went into.
Kim: And Larry goes on and on about these *creepy* conventions he goes to. In costume!
Larry is meant to symbolize the basic "trekkie", the people who follow Star Trek intently, memorize every detail about the show, and go to conventions in costume.

[^-- I think it's safe to go a bit broader and say that, aside from the "communicator" riff, Larry's more a caricature of Sci-Fi/Fantasy geeks, in general, rather than Trekkies (or "Trekkers", as some prefer), exclusively.]

Ron: Who are you?
Larry: Kim's cousin Larry, but that's not important.
OK, I know this may be a long shot, but this line seems to be a 'spin' on a running gag in the parody classic, 'Airplane!'. Example:

Doctor: We have to get these people to a hospital.
Elaine: A hospital! What is it?
Doctor: It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

none: none
This might seem like a stretch, but when Kim goes into the temple to get the jade monkey, she has to dodge the trap where fire shoots out of the stone-carved monkeys, which is similar to when Harry has to dodge the fire that shoots out of the stone-carved snakes in the computer game based on the book and movie, 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets'.
