| Everybody is kung-fu fighting when Ron becomes an exchange
student at a secret Japanese ninja school and Kim and Monique start
crushing on the same guy. |
|
Villain: Lord Monkey Fist
Animation Production by: Rough Draft Korea Co., Ltd
"I Want It My Way":
Lyrics by Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley
Music by Adam Berry
The 11:00 p.m. time slot debuts the new
credit-styling; instead of the previously established scrolling white letters over a black screen, the credits are fashioned after the credits at the end of the "Secret Files" DVD (a still of Kim when she says "What's the sitch" in the opening credits, with credits flashing over the picture one by one).
Here in Asia, the Kim Possible credits have always been shown with KP in the background -- ever since season 1, even.
Same here in Canada. We've always had Kim in the background.
Ditto for Australia.
In Britian, they just cut to Studio Disney after an ep.
Well, now that they air new eps on Studio D(here in Asia), they also cut to Studio D after an ep, but at the end of Studio D they show a frame at the side, showing the credits of all the shows that are on Studio D
Probably the *only* KP ep in which Kim has no effect on the main plot what-so-ever!
Fukushima is a villian in this episode too.
Very likely the *only* episode of Kim Possible in which Ron doesn't call Kim "KP" at any time.
Dante Basco, who does the voice for Fukushima, is the same person who does the voice of Jake in Disney's animated series, American Dragon: Jake Long.
This is Steve Loter's favorite episode.
Dante Basco also does the voice of another Japanese villain: Prince Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. |

| Ron: Lord Monkey Fist--my arch foe! (Beat) Hey, I just realized I have my own personal arch foe! That's pretty cool!
Sensei: So long as your heart remains pure, the blade will always know the way home. Call it back to you.
Ron: Call it? But, I mean, how...? Magic sword, here boy!
Ron: Aw, Fuji. Why is it always monkeys? Why can't I ever be attacked by crazed supermodels?
Yori: Even a mighty river was once a stream.
Ron: But I'm a trickle!
Ron: Call me "Ron-san"!
Ron: Ron-san is gonna sleep like a baby tonight!
Rufus: Huh?
Ron: No, I don't mean waking up every two hours crying for my Mama.
Bonnie: Let me get this straight. We get motorcycle hotness and they get Stoppable. Any way we can make this trade permanent?
Monkey Fist: Let's just bring it, shall we?
Ron: Ha! It is my honor to defeat you!
Ron: (panting) The nacos.... are safe....... Go on........ without me.
Yori: But we are almost there, Stoppable-san!
Ron: It will be my honor..... to pass out!
Ron: (victory chant) Oh yeah! Uh-huh! They're bad! You're sad!
Ron: (mouth full) Don't worry, Mr. B, I am a master at the delicate art of diplomacy... (swallows) ...but if they push any of that raw fish on me, I swear I'll chuck.
Kim and Monique: Uh-oh.
Ron: Ladies, ladies, please. You'll only be Ron-less for one week. Be brave.
Crowd of Girls: HIROTAKA! HIROTAKA!
Ron: Oh, come on! Show me some LOVE!
Monique: (of Hirotaka on a motorcycle) Imports are nice!
Ron, flipping through weapon choices: Nope... no... uh-uh... Hey, I could use this camping!
Ron: *waking up* Wuh? Snooze button!
Ron: A secret ninja school! Wait, is it a public secret ninja school?
Fukushima: Wait, outsider!
Ron: Look, dude-san, I don't have time for your attitude right now.
Ron {to Fukushima}: It is an honour to defeat you.
*Ron is shown Animé-style doing a victory sign*
Ron: This could be a bad carrer move for you Fukushima.
Fukushima: How so, outsider?
Ron: I mean, how's this gonna look on your transcript? This'll keep you out of a good ninja college for sure.
Fukushima: But I was hoping to gain early admission!
Monkey Fist: Don't worry, I'll write you a letter of reccomendation.
Monkey Fist: I grow impatient. Hand over the sword!
Ron: Never. Not in a hundred, million, billion yea- (Fukushima knocks it out of his hands)
Sensei: Do as your heart tells you.
Ron (nervous): Can you here it too?

| For one brief shot, as Yori waits in Master Lunchlady's sushi line, her ninja school uniform is black (like the garb she dons later in the episode) rather than white (which it returns to shortly after).
When Kim says "Are we the only two girls in Middleton not crushing on him?", her ear is given details.
Ron complains about his clothes ripping off "even in Japan", but it's already happened in Tokyo in the episode "Crush".
Why aren't the monkey ninjas working for Ron anymore?
Fukushima's
eyes are "bigger" (they aren't just dots) when he trips Ron and before he destroys the bridge. Perhaps it was deliberate?
In a shot before the second commercial break, the black circles under Monkey Fist's eyes were not black.
Nitpick: if Ron is in Japan, then why does everyone featured speak English and not Japanese?
When Kim is drops down the vent, she goes in head first, but a split second after she's sliding down feet frist. |

DYN #1
Ron's "same old, same old" comment reflects Kim's line in "Adventures in Rufus-Sitting" where she, too, has an adventure she won't tell her partner about. In both instances, Rufus is in on it.
DYN? #2
The
shots of Ron and Monkey Fist receiving mystical monkey power have been taken directly from "Monkey Fist Strikes".
DYN? #3
The Oh Boyz' song "I Want It My Way" can be heard at the concert, supposedly as the opening act.
None
When Fukishima is trying to fight Ron, Ron dodges his blows in a similar style as Shego in "Two to Tutor".
Ron's prep
The way Ron gets ready to go after Lord Monkey fist, he get ready very similarily like Mulan
Sensei and the Lotus Blade
Sensei is an almost direct copy of the legendary movie character Pai Mei who was a member of the Lotus clan, hence the magical sword being named the Lotus blade.
Ron Stoppable: Board Breaking
During the training scenes, everyone is breaking boards. Ron has felt inadequate to everyone, so he kicks the tree. No one seemed to have a reaction to the fact that Ron broke a tree with a kick.

None: Ron and Yori riding down the mountain
Ron and Yori riding down the mountain on the shield is vaguely recollective of a scene in the Disney film Mulan, where a similar action is taken to escape the enemy.
Ron: The boys are back in town!
Ron references the classic Thin Lizzy song when proclaiming his return to the states.
N/a: Ron and Rufus donning ninja gear
When Ron and Rufus are putting on their gear to go rescue Yori, they are both facing the window with their backs to the camera and tying the belts on. This is also reminiscent of a scene from Mulan when she is donning her father's armor.
n/a: Yori as she fights the ninja monkeys.
Here are a couple more Mulan references: Yori whips out her fan, reminiscent of when Mulan pulls out her fan as she faces Shan-Yu at the climactic scene in the movie; secondly, when Yori runs and grabs Ron as they escape the lava flow, it is reminiscent of when Mulan grabs Captain Shang as they escape the avalanche. Plus, George Takei (Sensei) also did the voice of the "First Ancestor" in Mulan.
Character: Sensei
The character of Sensei is drawn to resemble kung fu master Pai Mei, who appeared in several Shaw Bros. Kung Fu films durning the '70s and '80s, and was recently featured in the Tarantino kung-fu homage Kill Bill

Prop: The Lotus Blade
The Lotus Blade is a subtle reference to The Green Destiny, the coveted magical sword from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000).
Ron: ["Finishing" move]
When Ron defeats Fukushima; his hair rises up, making him look a lot like Tetsuo from the Japanese anime movie AKIRA.
none: none
Fukushima is the last name of a famous composer from Japan, Kazuo Fukushima
Monique: You're the one who said "Truly madly".
This could be a reference to the Savage Garden song "Truly Madly Deeply".
Ron: ["finishing" move] part 2
Also a musical score from the movie Shreik is used in that scene(from the scene wherein Lord Farquad is walking through his castle).
None: Ron and Yori riding down the mountain
CORRECTION: Mushu and Cri-Kee ride down the avalaunch looking for Mulan. It wasn't to escape the enemy - that's what the avalaunch was for in the first place.
none: none
When Ron is trying to get some sushi from the Master Lunchlady it is very similar to Ranma trying to get the "Phoenix Pill" from Cologne in the Japanese anime Ranma 1/2(episode: Behold! The "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" Technique (3) ) More Info
none: none
When Bonnie kisses Hirotaka at the end, the theme from the Romeo and Juliet ballet is faintly in the background. The theme sounds as if played with a plucked string instrument, like a banjo or any number of Asian string instruments.
